This is the page on which I will post photos and short stories about you, Pop. I’m going to keep all those in one place so you’ll be able to get to them all at once and not have to click around a lot. (I know how frustrating websites could be to you.) π I love you, and I hope you enjoy these! There are more to come!
Just wanted you to be able to see your mom. Casey’s with her, in my room. When Gramma was at Clemmons Village, she had a board of photographs. You never got to that point, but the sentiment is the same.
Just thought you might like to see your dad…and some cute kids sharing a chair.
This was at the wax museum, as well. You and Mork are hanging out trying to decide who the real Robin Williams is. He looks impressed.
I love the face you’re making in this one. You look like a kid! This was also at the wax museum.
This was when you and Denise visited the wax museum in Vegas. Tiger is giving you some tips.
This was the night you were invited to the WSSC Reunion, and you met Earl the Pearl Monroe and Clarence “Big House” Gaines. You look very honored and grateful here.
You were either explaining something here, or waiting for a gift to be in hand. This was one Christmas Eve that you came with us to Mom’s house. Then you picked us up in the morning to go to the Hammer Christmas. π
I don’t know what the occasion was for this, but I know you look very happy here. Check out those kids behind you!
Just a quick photoshoot with you. I love this one because any onlooker can see how much we love each other.
This was after I came out to you. I know that because I have on my thumb ring. This photo you kept in a frame on the coffee table, and now it is framed on my desk.
This was you leaning into my room blowing me a kiss. I must have been 10 or so because I had a microscope and Leonardo DiCaprio photos all over my wall. Wish this picture was in better shape.
When I found this, I thought you were being silly, but then I remembered that I had found your Polaroid camera and wouldn’t stop snapping photos. π
How about this little treasure? You’re hanging out with your law partner/mentor here. I know I was alive, but I must have been small.
This was you reading us “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” before bed. Seeing you giddy about the holidays was pretty special. π
This was, I believe, taken around Christmas. It wasn’t the first time you met Thad because I had already graduated, I think. You told me, “Don’t bring that dog!” But, look what happened when he got there!
I’m guessing this was either at Thanksgiving or Christmas with the Hammers. Jen Mabe sent this to me when I called for photos and stories of you. Maybe you remember when it was. Either way, it is a very sweet photo of you both!
I took this photo one night and it doesn’t seem like it was that long ago. This is the second one I took. When I took the first one, you held up a photo of you and your brothers and covered your face with it. π I happen to prefer this one because you just can’t beat that smile. (I should know. I have it, too!)
I remember this photo being taken, but I canβt remember who took it. There are a few of me from that night, in the green bandana playing you some music. It was back when I used to play open mic and book my own shows at Java Jβs in Abingdon. I, naturally, love any photo of us together, but this one is very special to me. Aunt Annie sent it to me when I called for photos and stories of you.
